The insurance policy we hope that is never cashed

How Prepared are you for Covid

So very often we look to past experience to manage current events. The nursing team from Swift Management Services are proud to have been part of the commissioning team at the Nightingale Hospital in London. We have worked on the project from day zero and looking back over our time here we are amazed at what has been achieved Yet despite all that has been done the Nightingale Hospital project has received mixed reviews.

At the beginning of the pandemic it was impossible to say how London and the surrounding areas were going to be effected by Covid-19. When we arrived at the Excel building to commence a really ambitious project to create a 4000 bedded Intensive Care Unit for London in a field hospital in only a week, it was certainly something to be involved with.

The “Project Nightingale” as it was known then was given the name Nightingale because the design of the project was based on the wards design by Florence Nightingale. That is to say there was a clear line of sight from one end of the ward to the other this concept was used widely in hospitals up and down the country for years. The wards were known as Nightingale Wards and can be seen in older hopsitals to this day.
